Meet the Team

Kia Rayford

 Kia (Jones) Rayford, KAHS Class of 2007, served as Junior/Senior Class President and later led the 10-Year Reunion Committee. At Kenwood, she was active in Concert Choir and Varsity Volleyball before attending Northwestern University, where she became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in 2009 and earned a Communication degree in 2011. In 2015, she married her high school sweetheart, Jabari Rayford (KAHS Class of 2008), on the beautiful shores of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Professionally, Kia is a Property Claims Consultant at EMC Insurance and a voice-over artist with Grossman & Jack Talent Agency, with clients including American Express, Kohler, Burger King, and more. She is also a member of the National African American Insurance Association and an INROADS alum.

Outside of work, she enjoys serving on her church praise team, music, event planning, movies/binge-worthy tv shows, game nights, good food and spending quality time with her husband, sons - Kendry & Kyaire, Cane Corso - Kovu, family, and friends!

Whitley O'Neal

Whitley began at Kenwood Academy as a preppy in the Academic Center. She was Salutatorian, a Junior/Senior Mentor, and a member of the National Honor Society. After Kenwood, she attended Northwestern University as a Gates Millennium Scholar and graduated with a degree in Social Policy and Education. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

She currently lives in Washington, DC. Professionally, she has a decade of experience handling policy for several Members of Congress and currently is the Chief of Staff and primary advisor for a Democratic Congressman. 
She loves traveling and experiencing new things. She's looking forward to reconnecting with everyone and making new memories.

Dorothy J. Hill

Dorothy J. Hill (DJ) is a Chicago-based classically trained singer, pedagogue, vocal health expert, full-time entrepreneur, and mom of two daughters. While at Kenwood, DJ was part of Girls’ Chorus, Concert Choir, the Jr & Varsity Volleyball team, and Drama Starz, followed by earning a B.M. in Vocal Performance and a M.A. in Vocal Pedagogy.

She is the Founder/Owner of The Voice Oasis, LLC, a vocal health and wellness company serving occupational voice users through coaching, instruction, consultation, and habilitation.

Deeply rooted in her family’s Chicago musical legacy, DJ is a third-generation member of Leak & Sons Voices of Truth. Additionally, she serves in many roles, including Recording Secretary for the Chicago Music Association, Branch No. 1, and Central Region Scholarship Chair for the National Association of Negro Musicians; as a member of the South Shore Cultural Center Advisory Council; and others through her church ministry.

As a third-generation member of Leak & Sons Voices of Truth, she is deeply rooted in Chicago’s musical legacy.

When she’s not doing all these things, she enjoys exploring content creation and new experiences.

Dominique Walls-Shelton

After graduating from Kenwood in 2007, Dominique has built a life rooted in purpose, growth, and unforgettable experiences. She is proud to still call Chicago home, married, the proud mother of one amazing child (Daylan 2) and pup (Bentley 4), and has earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work.


Today, she has the privilege of serving her community by supporting justice-involved youth in all of Cook County, a career that is both meaningful and rewarding. Outside of work, you’ll often find her planning gatherings, making memories with family and friends, or giving back through her service as a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.


 Nearly 20 years later, Dominique continues to embrace each new chapter with gratitude, laughter, and grace. After helping bring the Class of 2007 together over the past three years, she's excited to continue serving on the Social Media, Web Design, and Marketing Team—helping classmates reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate just how far the Class of 2007 has come.

Lauren Taylor

Lauren began her journey at Kenwood as a proud "preppy" in the Academic Center. During her time there, she served as Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Class Treasurer, worked as a tour guide, and mentored younger students as both a Junior and Senior Mentor, all while remaining actively involved in Concert Choir and Varsity Cheerleading.

Since graduating, Lauren has built a career in healthcare and pharmacy leadership. After earning her Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago, she advanced through pharmacy roles in retail, long-term care, hospital, and academic medical center settings. She relocated to the DMV area in 2015 and now calls the Baltimore area home, where she works at Johns Hopkins Medicine supporting pharmacy operations while helping develop and mentor the next generation of pharmacy professionals. She currently serves as Chair of the Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacy Technician Committee and was honored as the 2025 Pharmacy Technician of the Year.

Outside of work and reunion planning, Lauren enjoys traveling, attending concerts and music festivals with her partner—fittingly, that's how they met—and spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Aero. She is thrilled to reunite with her classmates, reminisce and create more lasting memories.

Kamila Brame

 Kamila Brame is a creative event planner, wardrobe stylist, and entrepreneur with a passion for bringing people together through memorable experiences. A proud member of the Class Reunion 2027 Committee, Kamila is excited to help create an unforgettable celebration that honors the past while reconnecting classmates for the future.

With experience in event coordination, production, and community engagement, she enjoys transforming ideas into meaningful experiences that leave lasting impressions. Outside of reunion planning, Kamila is the founder of Star Dove Collection and is actively involved in film production, fashion, and creative event design throughout the Chicago area.

As a creative visionary, and community builder, Kamila believes that the best events are the ones that foster genuine connection, celebrate accomplishments, and create new memories. She looks forward to helping make the Class Reunion 2027 a special and memorable experience for all attendees.

Ashley Greenhill

Ashley Greenhill is the owner of BOLD Decor, LLC Interiors & Art and co-owner of Greenhill Rentals, where she combines creativity, organization, and exceptional customer service to help bring memorable events and beautiful spaces to life. An Atlanta, Georgia resident since 2012, Ashley is a proud girl mom who is passionate about entrepreneurship, community engagement, and making a positive impact through service. Guided by her favorite quote, “You are the architect of your own prosperity,” she believes in creating opportunities through hard work, purpose, and collaboration.

A proud member of the KAHS Class of 2007, Ashley is excited to serve on the 20-Year Reunion Planning Committee, where she is a member of both the Merchandise Committee and the Social Media Committee. She enjoys using her creative eye for design and marketing to help build excitement, encourage class participation, and create lasting memories for her classmates.

Ashley also proudly cheered for four years during her time at KAHS, an experience that strengthened her school spirit, leadership, teamwork, and lifelong friendships. Being part of the reunion planning process is especially meaningful because it allows her to reconnect with classmates while celebrating the legacy of the Class of 2007. She looks forward to helping make the reunion a fun, memorable, and unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

Richard Theriot

Richard, being of Class 2007, served on the 10 year reunion committee as the website designer and marketing co-chair. While attending Kenwood, he lettered in both baseball and football, as well as being one of the founding freshman of The Brotherhood Inc. Since then, he has become a 10 year U.S Air Force Veteran, an Aeronautical Engineering Contractor for the USAF, Entrepreneur, but most importantly, a proud husband and father of two wonderful boys!

Currently, his primary focus away from work is his community partnership with Las Vegas’s Mastering Mindsets, in helping young black and brown children develop skillsets that aren’t being taught in schools anymore: engineering, finance, chess strategies (life strategies), reading skills, mathematics, etc. So if I’m not at home or at a little league game with my boys, I’m at someone’s community center or event area teaching/playing chess, teaching financial literacy or coaching little league baseball and it is my absolute honor to serve as your 20th reunion committee member again!

Omar P Turay

Since graduating from Kenwood, Omar has pursued a career guided by leadership, service, and the belief that success is most meaningful when it creates opportunities for others. As a senior executive in the food industry, he has spent more than 15 years leading complex manufacturing operations, building high-performing teams, and driving operational excellence across North America.

Beyond his professional career, Omar is an entrepreneur with a passion for creating businesses that leave a lasting impact. He is the founder of Mano River International, Wade Investment Group, Wade Forest Industries and Vin de Touré. His ventures span agribusiness, forestry, consumer brands, and philanthropy, with a shared mission of fostering sustainable economic growth and strengthening communities.

Through Mano River International, Omar is developing a diversified agribusiness enterprise in Liberia that currently cultivates more than 700 acres of palm oil, cocoa, rubber, cassava, pineapples, and vegetables, with an additional 2,000-acre cocoa and rubber expansion underway. His wine label, Vin de Touré, features wines crafted in Oregon’s renowned Rogue Valley wine region, reflecting his appreciation for craftsmanship, culture, and bringing people together through shared experiences. 

Omar earned a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness and Applied Economics from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Creighton University. Whether through business, philanthropy, or mentorship, he hopes to leave a legacy as someone who built bridges between people, cultures, and communities while opening doors for others to succeed.

When he isn’t working, Omar enjoys traveling, discovering great food, appreciating music, and experiencing different cultures around the world.

As a member of the Kenwood Class of 2007 Reunion Committee, Omar is grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with classmates and celebrate the remarkable journeys that began within the halls of Kenwood.

Victoria D. Steenes

 Victoria D. Steenes is a proud graduate of Eastern Illinois University, where she earned a degree in Political Science and Business Administration. She is the owner of Vi'tore Event Planning and Decor, specializing in event planning, décor, parties, social gatherings, and picnics that create memorable experiences.


While at Kenwood Academy, Victoria was actively involved as a three-year member of the girls' swim team, a Kenwood Ambassador, a junior and senior mentor, and a contributor to both the yearbook and school newspaper. During her time at Eastern Illinois University, she became a member of Alpha Phi Omega National Co-Ed Service Fraternity, where she served in several leadership roles, including Dean of Pledges.


Professionally, Victoria has dedicated the past 10 years to the United States Postal Service while continuing to grow her event planning business. In her free time, she enjoys discovering new restaurants, traveling, and creating beautiful memories with family and friends.


Victoria is excited to help celebrate the Kenwood Academy Class of 2007's 20-year reunion and looks forward to reconnecting, reminiscing, and honoring the many milestones the class has achieved over the past two decades.

Her reunion motto: "Once a Bronco, Always a Bronco… Class of 2007, back on campus!"

Megan Ovunwo

 At 37 years old, Megan is a proud mom to her 9-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son. She earned her master's degree in information systems and currently works as a Release Manager at a health tech company.


Known for her high energy and love of bringing people together, she's always ready to create memorable experiences. Whether she's spending time with family and friends, enjoying great food, laughing, dancing, traveling, or simply embracing life's joyful moments, she believes the best memories are made together.


For the past three years, she has played an active role in bringing the Class of 2007 together and is excited to continue serving as an integral part of the Class Outreach & Engagement Team. She looks forward to reconnecting classmates, building excitement, and helping create another unforgettable reunion experience filled with fun, laughter, and lasting memories.
